Overview

Weyerhaeuser Company Limited is looking for a Log Haul Specialist to optimize log transportation performance within the Hudson Bay operations team. This office-based role, which includes field engagement and occasional travel, focuses on ensuring safe and efficient log delivery while building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion safety values and foster a strong safety culture
  • Ensure compliant delivery of approximately 800,000 m3 of logs annually
  • Identify, onboard, and secure adequate trucking capacity
  • Coordinate and oversee log truck fleet management activities
  • Monitor trucking contractor performance and address compliance issues
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Utilize logistic tools to increase efficiency and safety
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors
  • Knowledge of computer-based truck tracking systems (GPS)
  • Planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel as required
