Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Log Haul Specialist to join their Hudson Bay operations team in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This role is vital for optimizing log transportation, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to mills and customers, and fostering partnerships with external stakeholders. The position offers hybrid flexibility and involves both office work and field engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion safety values and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliant delivery of 800,000 m3 of logs annually.
  • Identify and secure adequate trucking capacity for efficient harvest execution.
  • Oversee log truck fleet management activities.
  • Monitor trucking contractor performance and address compliance issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Utilize logistic tools for enhanced trucking efficiency.
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or industrial safety.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage contractors and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Knowledge of computer-based truck tracking systems (GPS) preferred.
  • Solid planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel for safety and production audits.
