Overview

Camrett Logistics Inc is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Local Truck Driver (CDL-A) to join their team in Radford, Virginia. This role involves transportation of materials, maintaining transportation records, and ensuring vehicle safety and compliance. The position offers consistent hours with overtime opportunities, primarily working second shift from Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Transport materials to and from specified locations
  • Complete and maintain appropriate records such as logbooks and vehicle inspections
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Coordinate trips based on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Drive truck to weigh station to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
  • Secure loads and maneuver truck into loading/unloading positions
  • Utilize GPS and other navigation devices to plan routes
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as necessary
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks

Required skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience
  • Clean driving record preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
