Job Description

Overview

The Local Operations Internship at Prairie Band, LLC is a temporary position designed for students to gain hands-on experience in various operational areas, including fleet management, agriculture, and distribution. Interns will primarily shadow the Fleet & Commercial Operations Manager and rotate through departments to learn key business processes and contribute to daily operations over a schedule of approximately 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Shadow Fleet & Commercial Operations Manager to learn fleet management processes
  • Assist with vehicle and equipment tracking and maintenance records
  • Support oversight of commercial buildings and operational facilities
  • Help maintain organized records related to fleet assets and service schedules
  • Receive hands-on training and obtain forklift certification (if eligible) in agricultural operations
  • Assist with record-keeping and administration of agricultural operations
  • Learn propane business operations including customer service processes
  • Assist with inventory tracking and product organization in distribution operations
  • Participate in order fulfillment processes including picking, packing, and preparing shipments
  • Gain exposure to inside sales activities related to propane and distribution
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping
  • Communicate with team members across departments to support operations

Required skills

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Strong attendance record and reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to multiple environments
  • Ability to lift and move materials in warehouse operations
