Overview

TransForce Inc. is searching for a Local CDL A Truck Driver based in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves consistent local routes with a home daily schedule and offers strong union-backed benefits for long-term stability.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers on local routes
  • Transport and deliver fresh produce and food products
  • Load and unload freight using proper equipment and procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain accurate logs and delivery documentation
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to changing conditions
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delays or issues
  • Assist with returns and relay customer feedback
  • Support training of new drivers as needed

Required skills

  • CDL A License
  • 2+ years of recent, verifiable CDL A experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no violations in the past 5 years)
  • Ability to work a 6-day schedule with flexible hours
  • DOT and FMCSA requirements compliance
  • Transportation and logistics knowledge
  • Load and unload skills
  • Route navigation
