Litigation Paralegal/Legal Asst Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant Houston, Texas 77056At Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC , litigation is what we do.Our Houston office is growing, and we are seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team supporting complex litigation matters. This hybrid role combines substantive litigation support responsibilities with high-level legal administrative support in a fast-paced trial practice.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing both litigation tasks and day-to-day case support responsibilities. This position works closely with attorneys and litigation teams to help cases move efficiently from inception through trial.This is an on-site in-office position, Monday through Friday, located in the Galleria area of Houston. Responsibilities Support attorneys and litigation teams through all phases of litigationPrepare, revise, organize, and file legal documents in state and federal courtsManage court deadlines, calendaring, scheduling, and case logisticsOrganize and maintain electronic and physical case filesAssist with discovery, document productions, exhibit preparation, and trial preparationCoordinate deposition materials, hearing binders, and trial support materialsHandle document management and e-discovery organizationCommunicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and vendorsAssist with administrative and case support functions necessary to keep matters moving efficientlyMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or certificate in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field required Experience Several years of litigation experience with familiarity throughout the litigation process, from case initiation through post-trial proceduresExperience in product liability and/or civil litigation is highly desired Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of litigation procedures, including court rules, filing requirements, deadlines, and case managementFamiliarity with both the Texas state and federal court systemsAbility to draft and format a wide range of legal documents, including motions, discovery requests, and trial documentsExperience with document collection, review, and productionExperience preparing, serving, and tracking subpoenasExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and attorneysExceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and detailed legal documentationProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with document management systems such as iManageAbility to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff in a fast-paced environmentStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet tight deadlinesAbility to adapt to changing circumstances, evolving legal processes, and new technology in a litigation environment Why Lightfoot At Lightfoot, we are committed to excellent legal work while maintaining a collegial and collaborative environment.
