Overview

Butler Snow LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for their Ridgeland office, where high-stakes litigation meets a supportive culture. This role involves providing essential support in litigation processes while being part of a dynamic team that values hard work and input.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft correspondence including pleadings, discovery, motions, orders, and notices
  • Schedule and maintain case calendars
  • Research complex legal issues using Westlaw or Lexis Nexis
  • Investigate legal matters including fact-checking and summarizing
  • Manage document production and trial preparation
  • File pleadings and motions through ECF or conventionally
  • Review and summarize depositions and medical records
  • Manage large document productions and organization
  • Oversee logistical details for trial preparation
  • Act as a liaison between clients, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals

Required skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience
  • Trial experience
  • Paralegal certificate or undergraduate degree from an accredited paralegal program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience capturing and recording billable time
  • High attention to detail and client focus
  • Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Drive and personal initiative
