Overview

Kiernan Trebach LLP, a Civil Litigation Defense Law Firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 2-3 years of experience to support multiple lawyers in their Baltimore, MD office. The firm is committed to sustainable growth and creating a diverse environment while exceeding client expectations in legal defense.

Key responsibilities

  • Schedule Independent Medical Examinations (IME's)
  • Conduct docket searches
  • Retain experts and send documents for their review
  • Gather medical records and other discovery materials
  • Track, organize, and prepare discovery materials for counsel and witnesses
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation
  • Maintain organization of files in the document management system
  • Perform general office administration functions

Required skills

  • 2-3 years of relevant litigation experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Lexis Nexis
  • Attention to detail and strong research skills
  • Experience obtaining medical records via authorizations/subpoenas
  • Familiarity with trial preparation and subpoena preparation in DC, Maryland, and Virginia
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proactive work style with initiative to anticipate attorney needs
