Kiernan Trebach LLP, a Civil Litigation Defense Law Firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with over 2 years of experience to join their Philadelphia office. The role involves supporting multiple lawyers in litigation matters across Pennsylvania and New Jersey courts, emphasizing effective client defense and a commitment to a diverse working environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Billing for time worked
  • Scheduling independent medical examinations (IMEs)
  • Conducting docket searches
  • Retaining experts and sending documents for their review
  • Ordering and tracking medical records
  • Gathering discovery materials via various means
  • Organizing and preparing discovery materials for counsel and witnesses
  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation
  • Maintaining organization of files in the document management system
  • Performing general office administration functions

Required skills

  • 2+ years of relevant paralegal experience
  • Experience with legal processes in PA and NJ
  • Strong research skills and creative thinking
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Lexis Nexis
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in obtaining medical records and preparing medical chronologies
  • Knowledge of defending medical malpractice and civil defense matters
