Overview

Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, P.C. is seeking a motivated Litigation Legal Assistant to join their thriving litigation department in Braintree, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, particularly within litigation, and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including document preparation, client communication, and calendar management.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and proofread legal documents such as pleadings and motions
  • Ensure compliance of legal documents with court rules and manage online filing
  • Assemble materials and documents for court appearances and meetings
  • Assist attorneys with pre-trial, trial, and appellate litigation tasks
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including filing and scanning documents
  • Schedule appointments and manage attorneys' calendars
  • Communicate with clients and other parties regarding case status and inquiries
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files
  • Assist with additional tasks and projects as needed

Required skills

  • 3+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience in litigation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with E-filing and document management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
