Overview

The YMCA of Greater Flint is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons in the pool area. This role requires maintaining active surveillance, responding to emergencies, and adhering to safety protocols while fostering a supportive community atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain active surveillance of the pool area
  • Know and review all emergency procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations immediately
  • Apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool
  • Maintain accurate records as required
  • Perform equipment checks and ensure availability
  • Conduct chemical testing when not guarding

Required skills

  • Current lifeguard certification or 2+ years of swimming experience
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
