Job Description

Overview

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide care under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses in a primary family medicine clinic setting. The role involves performing various lab procedures, assisting in patient examinations, managing patient flow, and handling clerical tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care duties such as obtaining vital signs and collecting specimens.
  • Assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Manage patient flow through the clinic and assist with scheduling and pre-certification of tests.
  • Document patient information and assist with medication refills.
  • Administer medications and immunizations according to provider orders.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms and equipment.
  • Perform routine clerical duties including filing and locating patient charts.
  • Attend required meetings and in-service training.

Required skills

  • CERT LVN License in state of employment or compact
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience in healthcare and patient care
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and lab procedures
  • Ability to perform vital signs monitoring and phlebotomy
  • Strong healthcare communication skills
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and scheduling
