Overview

USAA is seeking a Licensed Retirement Income Advisor in Tampa, Florida, to empower military community members toward achieving financial security through personalized strategies. The role involves assessing retirement needs, providing expert financial advice, and driving sales with a consultative approach while adhering to USAA's core values of honesty, integrity, loyalty, and service.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to requests for advice from members through various channels.
  • Ask questions to uncover key information regarding retirement events and needs.
  • Document information related to retirement income portfolio building.
  • Develop and communicate tailored retirement income strategies for members.
  • Provide advanced retirement planning advice and recommend appropriate financial products.
  • Motivate members to take action on recommendations using advanced sales techniques.
  • Educate members on economic and market trends affecting retirement plans.
  • Conduct outbound calls to follow up on discussed products and services.
  • Guide and support less experienced team members.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management policies.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Active Group 1 Life license and ability to acquire necessary licenses within 90 days
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (or both 63 and 65) licenses
  • 4 years of experience in financial industry focusing on retirement income planning and sales
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in conflict resolution and multitasking within operating systems
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools and resources such as Money Guide and Salesforce CRM
  • Military experience or association is a plus
  • 3+ years of direct Annuity/Life Insurance Sales experience
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
