Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician for their protein and salt business in London, Ontario. The role involves performing skilled electrical tasks, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position offers a full-time opportunity with varying shifts, starting at 11:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify complex industrial equipment
  • Diagnose malfunctions or equipment failures
  • Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Assist in the installation and start-up of new equipment
  • Monitor and ensure quality of own work with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to safety and food safety policies and procedures
  • Execute day-to-day operations in compliance with EHS and FSQR standards
  • Operate motorized vehicles for moving equipment and materials

Required skills

  • Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A certification
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and varied conditions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to communicate in English
  • Experience in electrical, machinist, welding, pipe fitting trades
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with MRO or MRP systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
