Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician to join their team in Thamesford, Ontario. This full-time role is situated in Cargill's protein and salt business, focusing on the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment while ensuring safe food production practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify complex industrial equipment
  • Diagnose malfunction causes and facilitate preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment
  • Monitor the quality of work with minimal supervision
  • Apply knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatics, and hydraulics in daily tasks
  • Ensure compliance with safety and food safety regulations
  • Operate motorized vehicles for material movement within various destinations
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required skills

  • Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A certification
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Experience in maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, and pipe fitting
  • Understanding of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Capability to read blueprints and layout drawings
