Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician for their protein and salt business in Woodstock, Ontario. This full-time role involves performing electrical tasks such as installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in a safe and compliant environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and modify complex industrial equipment
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions or failures
  • Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment
  • Monitor quality of own work with minimal supervision
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures related to personnel and food safety
  • Ensure HACCP/FDA requirements are met in food and feed processes
  • Conduct safety inspections and housekeeping audits

Required skills

  • Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A certification
  • Basic computer skills and typing
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Experience operating machinery or industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Experience in maintenance trades such as electrical, welding, and pipe fitting
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
