Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician for their facility in Thamesford, Ontario. This full-time position is part of Cargill's protein and salt business, focused on providing high-quality food products while ensuring safety and sustainability in operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify complex industrial equipment and systems
  • Diagnose cause of malfunctions or equipment failures
  • Conduct preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment
  • Work with minimal supervision and monitor the quality of own work
  • Follow policies and procedures related to personnel safety and food/feed safety
  • Comply with corporate policies regarding Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR)
  • Ensure HACCP/FDA requirements are met in food and feed processes
  • Operate motorized vehicles to move or lift products, equipment, or materials as needed

Required skills

  • Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trade
  • Ability to work in varied conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise) with PPE
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Proficient in English communication (verbal/written)
  • Experience operating machinery or industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Previous experience with MRO and/or MRP
