Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician to join their team in Ingersoll, ON. This role involves performing skilled electrical tasks, including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex industrial equipment and systems. The successful candidate will be part of a company dedicated to providing high-quality food products sustainably.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and/or modify complex industrial equipment
  • Diagnose cause of malfunctions or equipment failures
  • Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, calibration and start-up of new equipment
  • Work with minimal supervision and monitor the quality of own work
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures related to personnel and food safety
  • Ensure HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all food and feed processes
  • Operate motorized vehicles to move or lift products
  • Conduct safety inspections and housekeeping audits

Required skills

  • Licensed Electrician (Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and varied conditions
  • Basic computer skills and typing ability
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts
  • Experience with industrial equipment and machinery operation
  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Understanding of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Welding certification or other trade experience
