Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking a Licensed Electrician for their protein and salt business in Bellwood, Nebraska. This role involves supporting electrical projects, troubleshooting, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of electrical equipment in a plant environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in design and installation of electrical projects
  • Consult with operators and engineers to plan equipment layout
  • Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for defects
  • Repair, install, and adjust electrical equipment and machines
  • Test faulty equipment and diagnose malfunctions
  • Maintain logs of performance problems and repairs
  • Follow safety rules and adhere to the National Electric Code
  • Assist with management of outside contracted electrical projects

Required skills

  • Licensed electrician with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting 50 pounds
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval
  • Experience working with blueprints and schematics
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in extreme conditions
  • Mechanical aptitude and time management skills
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers preferred
  • Use of electrical test equipment
