Overview

Penske Logistics is seeking a Licensed Diesel Truck Technician/Mechanic I for their Vaughan, Ontario location. The role includes diagnosing, overhauling, and repairing truck and trailer equipment in a modern work environment with industry-leading tools and technology. This position requires an experienced technician who will perform tasks with minimal supervision and can efficiently handle a variety of maintenance duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
  • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions
  • Inspect and test defective equipment to diagnose issues
  • Adjust and replace brake components and reassemble equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil and lubricating machinery
  • Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting major components

Required skills

  • 5+ years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
  • Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T
  • Current driver's license class D or class 3 with air brake certification
  • Proficiency in using welding and diagnostic equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
  • Specialized training in major component diagnosis and troubleshooting
