Job Description

Overview

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) to join their team in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The successful candidate will work with individuals battling substance use disorders, providing therapy, case management, and crisis intervention as part of comprehensive treatment planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy
  • Perform case management and crisis intervention
  • Document services and case activity notes according to policies
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans for clients
  • Complete and document assessments per established standards
  • Participate in weekly case staffing and supervision meetings
  • Provide progress reports to courts and other agencies
  • Collaborate with outside agencies for client care
  • Maintain knowledge of co-occurring disorders and core competencies
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required skills

  • Valid LADC/ADC-T licensure in Minnesota
  • 1+ years of addiction counseling experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of MN Statutes for addiction services
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or obtain within 30 days)
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Google Suite
  • Familiarity with medication for opioid use disorder model (preferred)
  • Specialty training in DBT-SUD, CBT, MI (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Procentive Electronic Health Record System (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
