Overview

The Liability Risk Manager at CoxHealth is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of claims and liability matters within the healthcare system. Reporting to the Administrative Director of Insurance and Risk Management, this role oversees the lifecycle of various claims, including professional liability and medical malpractice, while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct the lifecycle of professional liability, medical malpractice, and general liability claims
  • Manage investigation, evaluation, litigation management, resolution, and closure of claims
  • Serve as the primary liaison with defense counsel and internal legal teams
  • Provide strategic oversight of litigation activities, including discovery and trial preparation
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify trends and manage risks
  • Promote fiscal responsibility and a culture of safety across the healthcare system
  • Establish and monitor claim reserves and ensure timely reporting to insurers

Required skills

  • 5 years of professional liability claims experience
