Overview

The Lending Department Manager at Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union is responsible for overseeing and managing the Lending Department’s operations, including consumer and mortgage loan activities. This role involves ensuring compliance with lending policies, directing a cross-functional team, and supporting the credit union's strategic lending objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all consumer and mortgage loan activities
  • Ensure compliance with credit union lending policies and guidelines
  • Oversee daily operations of lending, mortgage origination, and underwriting
  • Lead and develop the lending team, including underwriters and processors
  • Establish sound underwriting standards for loan portfolios
  • Monitor portfolio performance indicators such as delinquency and charge-offs
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations
  • Manage loan quality control and post-closing audits
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and compliance
  • Conduct staff training on underwriting guidelines and lending systems
