Overview

The Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Director at Housing California will lead the development and execution of the organization's legislative and regulatory strategy, focusing on state-level initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of the legislative landscape and involves engaging with policymakers, advancing policies through effective advocacy, and managing a dedicated team to promote housing justice and systemic change.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and oversight of Housing CA's legislative and regulatory strategy
  • Cultivate relationships with legislators, legislative staff, and other stakeholders
  • Plan and oversee team activities for legislative and regulatory goals
  • Ensure Housing CA representation at hearings and coalition meetings
  • Collaborate with various teams to build public support for policy agendas
  • Oversee engagement in networks and coalitions aligned with policy priorities
  • Address policy and regulatory barriers through actionable proposals
  • Support team growth through mentoring and professional development
  • Participate in fundraising efforts and compliance reporting

Required skills
