Overview

R.L. Barclay & Associates is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Coordinator to join a prominent law firm in Houston. This role involves overseeing the complete full-cycle legal billing process, ensuring accurate and timely client invoicing through effective management of prebill generation, trust accounting, and e-billing.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and finalize unreleased time and expense entries
  • Generate and distribute prebills from the Legal Management System (LMS)
  • Process marked-up prebills, executing edits and fee adjustments
  • Manage client trust ledgers and apply trust funds to invoices
  • Investigate and reconcile Unallocated Cash (UAC)
  • Maintain and update client profiles and billing arrangements
  • Finalize and post traditional PDF invoices
  • Generate and audit LEDES files for e-billing

Required skills

  • 3+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm
  • Advanced knowledge of Legal Management Systems (LMS)
  • Proficient in Excel for reporting and data reconciliation
  • Mastery of LEDES file structures and UTBMS coding
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Attention to detail in data entry and compliance auditing
