Position: Legal Assistant (Ref: 18671)Location: Nashville, TN 37243 United StatesDuration: 9 Months 26 Days - ContractOpenings: 1Deadline: 09/18/2026Pay Rate: $19.60/hr.Description: Local Candidate HybridWe are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support an in-house Office of General Counsel with regulatory and administrative enforcement matters. In this role, you will act as a core case manager assisting staff attorneys through the full lifecycle of enforcement actions, from reviewing initial draft orders and managing service of process to coordinating administrative appeals, settlements, and post-order enforcement.Key Responsibilities Document Review & Quality Control: Review draft enforcement orders for factual accuracy, supporting documentation, named respondents, and correct addresses for service of process; prepare attorney cover letters and coordinate formal service. Appeals & Litigation Support: Assist counsel with enforcement order appeals, prepare Notices of Hearing to docket matters, proofread motions, and support discovery responses, depositions, and administrative hearings. Case Management & Communications: Serve as the primary case manager for enforcement files; draft and track demand letters; coordinate communications with opposing counsel and pro se parties. Settlements & Filings: Draft agreed final orders for settlements; draft General Sessions warrants and affidavits for attorney review, secure affiant signatures, and manage court filings. Collections Support: Assist with tracking and collections of assessed civil penalties and damages. Records Maintenance: Promptly update case milestones, maintain deadlines, and upload relevant legal documentation into the case management database.Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of progressive administrative support experience. High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence and legal proofreading/editing. Excellent organizational abilities with experience managing case files and tight deadlines.Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelors degree. Paralegal Certificate. Prior legal assistant or paralegal experience within an administrative, regulatory, or litigation setting. Familiarity with General Sessions court filings and collections processes.
