Job Description

Overview

At Mosaic, supporting our team starts with showing up for them during life's most important moments. We are looking for a Leave of Absence Specialist to bring expertise, clarity, and compassion to our team in a flexible, part-time role ( 25 hours/week). If you are a leave administration pro who excels at guiding employees through FMLA, ADA, and state leaves with a people-first mindset, we'd love to connect. You will act as the primary, caring point of contact for employees navigating medical or personal leave while ensuring our operational processes remain smooth, compliant, and aligned with Mosaic's mission. Key Responsibilities Leave Management: Oversee cases from initial intake to return-to-work, guiding employees and supervisors through eligibility, timelines, and requirements. Compliance & Interactive Process: Facilitate workplace accommodation requests, evaluate medical documentation, and manage interactive dialogues in accordance with FMLA, ADA, and state laws. Communication: Maintain compassionate, accurate, and timely communication with staff during sensitive life events. HRIS & Tracking: Maintain leave records, track entitlement balances, and handle benefit invoicing for missed deductions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with People Operations to handle leave updates, resolve issues, and ensure multi-state compliance. What You Bring Experience: Minimum 5 years of dedicated experience in leave administration, benefits, or HR compliance. Subject-Matter Expertise: In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, State Paid Leave regulations, and running interactive accommodation processes. Core Skills: Empathetic communication skills, high organizational ability, proficiency with HRIS tracking systems, and the self-motivation to work independently in a team environment. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Why Mosaic? We empower people and foster a culture built on belonging, connection, faithfulness, and grit. This part-time role offers you a high-impact way to support colleagues when they need it most while giving you the schedule flexibility you need.
