Job Description

Overview

HealthCorps is a national non-profit organization that focuses on improving the lives of teens by addressing health education challenges through innovative mentorship programs. As a Learning & Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the training and development of college-age mentors who support students in their understanding of nutrition, mental health, and fitness in various educational environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing professional development for mentors.
  • Develop mentor-ready resources such as videos, how-to guides, and templates.
  • Partner with curriculum and program teams to review and provide feedback on lesson plans and activities.
  • Develop training that resonates with college-aged mentors, incorporating modern content delivery methods.
  • Spend time in the field observing mentors and using insights to enhance training.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in education, instructional design, training, or public health.
  • Familiarity with instructional design frameworks.
  • Ability to work with diverse young adult populations.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in learning management systems and design tools like Canva.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
