Job Description

Overview

Connected Roots Care Center is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Toddlers classroom at their Northwest Center in Omaha. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 9am to 5:30pm with no nights, holidays, or weekends. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, particularly with children who have special needs, and will be responsible for classroom management, lesson planning, and parent communication.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the classroom and children
  • Develop and implement lesson plans using Creative Curriculum
  • Conduct assessments on child milestones and create growth goals with parents
  • Communicate daily with parents regarding child's activities
  • Assist with daily living activities for clients as needed
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in company events
  • Direct activities of classroom staff and provide training as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a lead teacher in a licensed childcare center
  • Knowledge of child development assessment
  • Experience with special needs children preferred
  • Team leadership and staff training experience
  • Ability to develop positive parent communication
  • Understanding of health services plans and safety regulations
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
