Overview

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is seeking a Lead Teacher for its award-winning Early Childhood Center in New York City, which offers comprehensive educational and social services to low-income preschoolers and their families. This role includes collaborating with assistant teachers, developing age-appropriate curriculums, conducting assessments, and promoting parent engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Assistant Teacher(s) to create a developmentally appropriate learning environment
  • Develop and implement weekly plans and age-appropriate curriculum
  • Perform ongoing assessments to differentiate children's strengths and needs
  • Promote parent engagement through meetings, conferences, and home visits
  • Cooperate with providers to adapt individualized curriculum for children with special needs

Required skills

  • MS in Early Childhood Education with NYS certification preferred
  • BA with NYS certification required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
