Overview

Jane Technologies is a rapidly growing eCommerce company in the cannabis industry, focused on improving the online shopping experience for cannabis products. As a Lead Software Engineer Ads, you will lead a team in building scalable services and APIs for their digital merchandising platform while collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance advertising products.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers in developing scalable services, APIs, and SDKs.
  • Drive architecture and design decisions for the ads platform.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Data Scientists to improve advertising offerings.
  • Manage and grow a team through regular 1:1s and performance feedback.
  • Identify gaps in team capabilities and propose improvements.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Address performance bottlenecks and ensure technical standards.

Required skills

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience in product-centered teams
  • 2+ years of experience in a lead or people-management role
  • Experience with AdTech systems, particularly in retail media and marketplace advertising
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Go and Java
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and code design principles
  • Database fluency with relational, columnar, and document-based databases
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform
  • Strong technical communication skills.
