The Lead Referral Coordinator at ClareMedica Health Partners is a senior-level role focused on managing a team responsible for referral coordination. This position involves overseeing complex referral cases, providing training and support to team members, and ensuring quality patient care through effective workflow management and adherence to protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the referral coordination team and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Manage complex or escalated referral cases requiring insurance approvals.
  • Train, mentor, and support Referral Coordinators I and II.
  • Act as a liaison between referral staff, providers, and clinic leadership.
  • Monitor referral documentation and compliance to maintain patient safety.
  • Advocate for patients navigating the healthcare system.
  • Build relationships with specialists and community resources.
  • Review referral reports and provide feedback for improvements.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience in referral coordination or healthcare administration.
  • Proficiency with healthcare systems and EMR platforms.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and AHCA regulations and medical terminology.
  • Expertise in insurance authorizations and complex case management.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other healthcare technology.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred.
