Overview

Lakeview Hospital is seeking a Lead Medical Lab Scientist to join their Laboratory team in Bountiful, Utah. This role is critical in ensuring reliable testing and providing exceptional patient care through both routine and specialized laboratory tests.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive blood specimens and perform blood tests
  • Study the morphology of blood components
  • Perform various routine and special clinical laboratory tests
  • Maintain and use laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
  • Perform antibody screening, identification, and cross-matching procedures
  • Notify nursing units and/or physicians of critical lab values
  • Implement new testing methods and technologies

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or related sciences
  • Nationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist from ASCP or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of laboratory experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
