Lead Maintenance TechnicianWhat this job involves:Lead facility maintenance operations to ensure optimal building performance and system reliability. This supervisory role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, overseeing maintenance teams to deliver exceptional service across JLL's managed properties. The position requires both strategic planning and direct involvement in complex troubleshooting and repairs, balancing day-to-day operational needs with long-term maintenance program development.Your day-to-day tasks will include:• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance team activities including work assignments, scheduling, and performance management while providing hands-on technical leadership for troubleshooting and repairs across building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.• Oversee preventive maintenance programs ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Manage work order systems and maintenance management software to track and prioritize facility needs.• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and plan repairs. Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure work meets JLL standards and client expectations.• Train and mentor maintenance technicians to develop team capabilities and improve performance. Respond to emergency situations and coordinate urgent repairs to minimize building downtime.• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment records, and inventory management. Partner with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of specialized maintenance work.Minimum Requirements:5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in facility maintenance, building systems, or related technical field2-3 years of proven supervisory or lead technician experience with responsibility for team coordination and performance managementDemonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)Valid driver's license with clean driving recordRelevant trade licenses or certifications as required by local jurisdiction (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications)Strong proficiency with maintenance management software systems and digital work order platformsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manualsPhysical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditionsAbility to climb ladders and scaffolding, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in confined spacesStrong communication skills with ability to coordinate across teams and interact professionally with clientsCommitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliancePreferred Qualifications:Additional trade certifications beyond minimum requirements (e.g., multiple disciplines)Experience managing facilities in commercial real estate or corporate environmentsKnowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platformsOSHA safety certifications or equivalent safety training credentialsExperience with budget management and cost control for maintenance operationsFamiliarity with sustainable building practices and LEED operationsBilingual capabilities to support diverse workforce and client needsLocation & Schedule:Minneapolis, MN - 1st ShiftThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
