Job Description

Overview

The Lead Machinist on the Night Shift at Anderson Dahlen will support the Machine Shop Manager by overseeing machining personnel and ensuring the timely and quality delivery of products. The role requires strong technical expertise in machining, tooling, and the ability to interpret blueprints with GD&T.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Machine Shop Manager in overseeing personnel and workload scheduling
  • Diagnose problems related to machining and tooling
  • Interpret blueprints with GD&T
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and project teams
  • Use precision measuring equipment for inspection
  • Manage tool room and procure custom tooling
  • Remain updated on new technologies related to machining
  • Lead shop floor operations in the supervisor's absence
  • Maintain stock of standard tooling and oversee the 5S organizational system

Required skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong math skills and knowledge of machining feeds and speeds
  • Experience with CNC code and controls (Haas, Toshiba, Fanuc)
  • Familiarity with Mastercam and SolidWorks software
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and technical competence
