Overview

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications on a large scale. Your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing machine learning solutions while collaborating closely with Product and Data Science teams to solve real-world business challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance software for big data and ML applications
  • Develop and validate machine learning models and automate tests and deployment
  • Maintain and monitor models in production
  • Leverage cloud-based architectures to deliver optimized ML models
  • Construct data pipelines to support machine learning workflows
  • Ensure code is well-managed to reduce vulnerabilities and ensure model governance

Required skills

  • 6+ years of experience designing data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • 2+ years of experience building and optimizing ML systems
  • Experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Strong understanding of ML modeling techniques
  • Experience developing production-ready data pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
