Overview

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you'll play a crucial role within an Agile team focused on developing and deploying machine learning applications at scale. Your responsibilities will include machine learning architectural design, coding, and ensuring the performance and reliability of ML applications while leveraging cloud-based technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models that solve real-world business problems.
  • Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams.
  • Write and test application code, developing and validating ML models.
  • Automate tests and deployment processes.
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for feeding ML models.
  • Leverage best practices in continuous integration and deployment.
  • Ensure well-managed code and governance for models.
  • Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 6 years of experience with data-intensive solutions
  • At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Experience building and optimizing ML systems
  • Experience developing performant and maintainable code
  • Experience with data gathering and preparation for ML models
  • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
