Overview

CF Industries is seeking a Lead Internal Auditor based in Northbrook, Illinois, to supervise the planning, execution, and reporting of operational audits for their global operations. The role involves overseeing audit activities, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and leading audit teams while promoting improvements in operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise planning and reporting of Operational audits.
  • Coordinate Internal Audit activities across various facilities and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and CF Industries accounting policies.
  • Lead audit engagements and teams including Senior Auditors and Staff Auditors.
  • Review financial and operating information for reliability and integrity.
  • Recommend improvements in processes and systems.
  • Prepare written documents summarizing audit findings for auditees.
  • Collaborate with management to develop action plans for audit findings.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure operations meet established objectives.
  • Partner with external auditors for reconciliation and support.
  • Lead investigations of anomalies identified through Data Analytics.
  • Provide expertise in risk and control to business partners.
  • Conduct various audits and inspections as requested.
  • Ensure audit methodologies and timelines are adhered to.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to audit team members.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in internal audit or public accounting
  • Certifications such as CPA, MBA, CISA, or CIA
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Data Analytics
  • Familiarity with SAP and related software
