Job Description

Overview

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Generator Engineer to ensure long-term reliability of generators throughout the Inquiry-to-Remittance (ITR) cycle. This role involves providing technical support for outages, repairs, and upgrades, leading problem-solving sessions, and acting as a technical expert for both customers and service teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation
  • Plan and lead engineering tasks during project execution
  • Provide engineering directions to customers and repair service centers
  • Resolve Non-Conformance issues and implement engineering solutions
  • Respond promptly to Engineering Requests with high-quality solutions
  • Deliver projects adhering to cost and quality standards
  • Lead Root Cause Analyses and drive effective problem-solving
  • Prepare technical proposals for generator upgrades and repairs
  • Support New Product Introduction development programs
  • Recommend improvements for generator maintenance and repair procedures
  • Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate generator unit records and configuration

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics
  • 5+ years of experience in generator manufacturing, repair, and overhaul
  • Understanding of stator and rotor rewinding activities
  • Knowledge of synchronous generator design and insulation technologies
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities
  • Customer service mindset focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Experience with legacy Alstom and GE generator technologies
  • Proficiency in lean methodology and continuous improvement tools
  • Knowledge of measurement tools and equipment
  • Experience in on-site execution and workshop processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PLM systems
