Job Description

Overview

The Lead Extra (Assistant Lead) at Valto is responsible for supporting the Dry End Group Lead in ensuring efficient line operations. This role includes managing equipment and coordinating with various departments to maintain productivity during startup and shutdown phases.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Group Lead in setting up lines for startups and shutdowns
  • Complete reports and forms in a timely manner, including production recaps and inspection reports
  • Communicate with the wet end and packaging departments for efficient operations
  • Make line adjustments to ensure the panel runs straight
  • Monitor trim width and address issues promptly
  • Manage trim choppers and dispose of trim when dumpsters are full
  • Maintain 5S standards for the Dry End of the lines
  • Provide support on the line as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Group Lead
