Overview

The Lead Echocardiographer will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures and participate in teaching Cardiology Fellows and Echocardiographer students. The role requires knowledge of patient care, scanning techniques, and the ability to manage workflow in the Department of Cardiology/Echocardiography.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures.
  • Participate in teaching Cardiology Fellows and Echocardiographer students.
  • Maintain workflow in the department.
  • Perform clerical duties as needed.
  • Assess patient status and interpret information for care.
  • Utilize departmental computerized systems and associated devices.

Required skills

  • Graduate of an approved cardiac ultrasound technology program.
  • Credentialing from an ICAEL and ASE recognized Program (e.g., ARDMS or CCI).
  • Knowledge of patient care and emergency situations.
  • Technical proficiency with echocardiography equipment.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data.
