Overview

As a Lead Carpenter at Blackdog Builders, Inc., you will be responsible for leading residential remodeling projects, ensuring quality and safety from demolition through to completion. This position is ideal for skilled carpenters offering steady, year-round work in a supportive, award-winning environment that values craftsmanship and quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead jobsite execution for residential remodeling projects
  • Perform layout, framing, window/door installations, cabinetry, trim, and finish carpentry
  • Read plans and perform material takeoffs from site conditions/blueprints
  • Coordinate daily with Project Managers and sequence trades
  • Uphold jobsite safety, protection, and cleanliness
  • Complete daily documentation using mobile tools/JobTread software

Required skills

  • 5 or more years of residential remodeling experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Personal hand/power tools appropriate for a lead carpenter
  • Precision and pride in craftsmanship
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members
  • Comfort with basic technology (smartphone/tablet)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
