Overview

Blackdog Builders, Inc. is seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter for residential remodeling projects in Salem and Nashua, NH. This role is ideal for experienced carpenters looking for steady, year-round work while being part of a team that values craftsmanship and quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead jobsite execution for residential remodeling projects from demolition through punch list
  • Perform layout, framing, window/door installations, cabinetry, trim, and finish carpentry
  • Read plans and perform material takeoffs from site conditions/blueprints
  • Coordinate daily with Project Managers and sequence trades to maintain schedule and quality
  • Uphold jobsite safety, protection, and cleanliness; model professional client interaction
  • Complete daily documentation using mobile tools and JobTread software

Required skills

  • 5 or more years of residential remodeling experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Personal hand/power tools appropriate for a lead carpenter
  • Ability to perform material takeoffs from site conditions and blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Comfort with basic technology (smartphone/tablet; Apple or Android)
  • Ability to work inside/outside, on ladders/roofs, and safely lift/carry materials
  • Alignment with a culture emphasizing integrity, communication, quality, and continuous improvement
