Overview

The Lead Avionics/Electrical Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Saint Louis, Missouri is responsible for planning and coordinating all electrical and avionics activities in the hangar. This role includes supervising and instructing technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining communication with management regarding aircraft schedules and repairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and completes tasks to meet the master schedule.
  • Coordinates electrical and avionics activities to meet aircraft schedules.
  • Supervises and instructs electrical technicians on troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Reviews work to ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintains preventive maintenance programs for tools and equipment.
  • Enforces safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Facilitates communication between team and management regarding daily operations.

Required skills

  • 2 years experience on large/mid-size aircraft.
  • 8 years experience in aircraft avionics/electrical field or related education.
  • FAA A&P license or ability to obtain repairman certificate.
  • Preferred FCC license or NCATT certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in restricted areas.
