Overview

Eitas is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to join their team at their Transportation Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This mission-driven organization serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and values teamwork, grace, and excellence. The role involves diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems and mentoring other technicians to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair automotive/light and medium duty truck systems.
  • Meet or exceed minimum efficiency ratings as required.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to technicians and customers.
  • Install necessary accessories in vehicles.
  • Assist in assigning and coordinating workload for other technicians.
  • Train and mentor technicians on repair techniques and safety practices.
  • Respond to service requests regarding vehicle maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly shop area.
  • Be available for emergency service for en-route vehicle breakdowns.
  • Complete required paperwork on services performed.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten years of automotive/light and medium duty truck repair experience
  • Expertise in brake systems, fuel systems, ignition, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in scan tool diagnostics
  • Good driving record
