Overview

The Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will play a critical role in developing AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve operational efficiency in banking. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to design, develop, and support advanced AI systems, focusing on large language models and other innovative technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Utilize a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques for production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of AI services development and optimization techniques.
