Overview

Attainx Inc. is seeking a LAW/BOF/LAB Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Department of Energy's Hanford Field Office on the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Project. The role involves oversight and assessment of engineering activities, focusing on mechanical and chemical systems, and requires extensive experience in navigating federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform as an HFO Field Engineer on LAW, BOF, and LAB systems.
  • Oversee and assess contractor engineering activities for various structures and systems.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of technical engineering issues.
  • Debrief engineers and management on technical matters.
  • Monitor contractor work processes and report on engineering activities.
  • Provide timely input regarding contractor performance.

Required skills

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline
  • 6 years of relevant experience (or substitution with experience)
  • 5 years of experience in contractor oversight on similar projects
  • Experience with WTP engineering requirements and federal regulations
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Understanding of DOE processes and program management practices
