Overview

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School is seeking a dedicated English / Language Arts Teacher for middle school students in Pasadena, California. This role involves inspiring and educating students in a nurturing environment that emphasizes academic excellence and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive English / Language Arts lessons to middle school students
  • Implement instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum aligned with Common Core State Standards
  • Conduct parent conferences to discuss student progress
  • Utilize technology, such as SMART Board and Google Classroom, to enhance learning experiences
  • Lead a Homeroom with 6th, 7th, or 8th Grade students

Required skills

  • Experience in small group instruction and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication skills for parent communication and conferences
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies for middle school English / Language Arts
  • Understanding of Common Core State Standards and SEL development for middle school students
  • Background in elementary education or early childhood education
  • Experience with Middle School Classroom and knowledge of high school requirements
  • Knowledge of Project Based Learning or Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Expertise in classroom management techniques
