Job Description

Overview

Tomorrow RNG is seeking a Landfill Gas Plant Operator to manage the independent operation and maintenance of a renewable natural gas processing plant in Edinburg, Texas. The role emphasizes safety compliance while ensuring optimum plant performance and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and will undergo training for various plant operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and follow basic operating procedures for plant operations
  • Prepare morning reports, daily logs, and conduct daily plant walk-throughs
  • Develop knowledge of plant treating processes and their functions
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including changing filters and valve maintenance
  • Understand and follow lockout/tagout procedures
  • Assist in maintenance work as required and communicate with vendors
  • Adhere to safety practices and identify hazards
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas
  • Participate in ongoing training and innovation initiatives

Required skills

  • Fundamentals of working with computers and Microsoft applications
  • Ability to multitask and be self-directed
  • Willingness to be trained in reading P&IDs and safety procedures
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous tasks in extreme weather
  • Experience in RNG or landfill operations is preferred
