Job Description

Overview

Amrize is seeking a Land Manager to oversee a portfolio of land and mining assets in the Greater Montreal market. The successful candidate will manage permits, entitlements, leases, and relationships that contribute to maximizing mining reserves for the regional aggregates and construction materials business, while developing strategic opportunities for growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee land management activities including acquisitions, divestments, lease agreements, and zoning
  • Represent the company at land use hearings to secure necessary permits and amendments
  • Manage the preparation, maintenance, and compliance of mining and reclamation permits
  • Negotiate land purchase agreements and mining leases to maximize company value
  • Develop and manage budgets and timelines for capital projects related to land acquisition and permitting
  • Lead community relations efforts and engage with internal staff and key stakeholders
  • Provide strategic land-related advice to management
  • Utilize GIS systems to document land boundaries, permits, and mine concession areas
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in real estate, land, and mining preferred
  • Training in leadership and team building; Professional Engineering License is a plus
  • Proficiency in Land Information Systems, GIS, and Microsoft Office
  • Bilingualism in French and English required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret rules, laws, and agreements
  • Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and work within regulatory frameworks
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time and attend public meetings
